Boredom Busters: Scavenger Hunt

Hello all,

We are temporarily reviving our Children's Blog to provide some resources for families who are stuck at home during this period of social distancing due to COVID-19. We will put together a variety of activities for you and your families every day at 1:00 pm. Watch for weekend Boredom Busters on Saturday and/or Sunday. See which ones you can do, and if you get the chance, share the results with us on any of our social media platforms, which will be listed at the bottom of this blog.

Today's theme is Scavenger Hunt!

Colour Scavenger Hunt: https://iheartcraftythings.com/simple-color-scavenger-hunt-kids.html

This is a great way to stay engaged in your surroundings, and keep your brain working. Have a look around your yard or neighborhood for colours before crafting your scavenger hunt, and have fun!

Movement Scavenger Hunt: https://theinspiredtreehouse.com/activities-for-kids-sensory-motor-scavenger-hunt/

This is a great activity to get you moving. Incorporate some obstacles, use items you have outside, or bring items out to add to the mix. Use the list suggested, or come up with your own. The only limit is your imagination!

Flashlight Scavenger Hunt: https://www.lifeissweeterbydesign.com/flashlight-scavenger-hunt/

This is a different twist on a scavenger hunt. Better for older kids, or for those on diverse sleep schedules. Rock out the flashlights, and see what fun things you can find at nighttime!

Outdoor Art Scavenger Hunt: https://buggyandbuddy.com/outdoor-scavenger-hunt-kids-free-printable/

There are so many ways to make this project creative. You can sketch, you can paint, you can take pictures or video. Make it unique to you, and have fun with it!

Hopefully these activities help break up the day, and get your family engaged some scavenger hunt fun!
