Mary had a little Lamb (Flannel Board)
Mary had a little lamb, Its fleece was white as snow;
And everywhere that Mary went, The lamb was sure to go.
It followed her to school one day, That was against the rule;
It made the children laugh and play To see a lamb at school.
And so the teacher turned it out, But still it lingered near,
And waited patiently about Till Mary did appear.
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"The eager children cry.
"Why, Mary loves the lamb, you know, “The teacher did reply.

7.             Craft: Sheep Note Holder

What you will need: Sheep body shape on construction paper, sheep head shape on cardboard, scissors, glue, googly eyes and clothespins.
Cut out body and head shapes. Glue on cotton balls. Glue head shape on body. Glue on googly eyes. Colour clothespin legs and glue to back of sheep body.

Rabbits

3.    Song: Five Little Bunnies
One little bunny, wondering what to do,
another bunny came along, then there were two.
Two little bunnies, hopping like me, (Hop)
another bunny came along, and then there were three.
Three little bunnies, jumping around outdoors,
another bunny joined them, and then there were four.
Four little bunnies, so fluffy and alive,
another bunny joined them, and then there were five.
Five little bunnies, ready for some fun,
hopped away in the warm, spring sun. 

 
5.    Finger play: Little Rabbit
I saw a little rabbit go hop, hop, hop. (hold up two fingers and go hop, hop, hop)
I saw his long ears go flop, flop, flop. (place hands above head and flop)
I saw his little nose go twink, twink, twink. (wiggle nose)
I said, "Little Rabbit, won't you stay?" (Make beckoning motion)
But he just looked at me and hopped way. (Make two fingers hop away) 

Little Bunny (Traditional)
There was a little bunny that lived in the wood, (Make a bunny with your fingers)
He wiggled his ears, as a good bunny should. (Wiggle fingers)
He hopped by a squirrel, (Hop your bunny down the other arm)
He hopped by a tree. (Hop your bunny down the other arm)
He hopped by a duck, (Hop your bunny down the other arm)
And he hopped by me. (Hop your bunny down the other arm)
He stared at the squirrel. (Stare)
He stared at the tree (Stare)
He stared at the duck. (Stare)
But he made faces at me! (Wiggle nose in rabbit fashion)









6.       Crafts:  Bunny Puppet:
Colour and cut out  bunny face. Glue to make cone shape. Tape on to popsicle stick. Glue on bunny tail.

We're BACK

The final storytime session has started! It runs from April 19- May 27th before we take a break for the month of June and start up again in the summer.
Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is taking place this weekend from 1-2 on Saturday April 23rd. It's free and fun for all ages. It is also a NON-competitive hunt. Everyone ends up with the same number of treats. There will be a craft and face painting as well. Drop by, we'd love to see you.

Storytime Break

Spring appears to finally be here. The week of April 12th-15th is our regular storytime break. Storytime resumes again on April 19th with the start of a new 6 week session that runs until the end of May.

The library will be closed on Good Friday, April 22nd. There will be no storytime sessions on that day.


There will be an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23rd from 1-2 pm. This is a drop-in event and no registration is necessary.

What you will need: Cow face photocopy, scissors, glue, popsicle sticks, tape and markers.
How to make: Cut face and ears, assemble ears on face and glue. Colour cow. Cut out eyes. Tape stick to back.

How to make: Choose face parts, colour, cut out and glue on paper plate to make a silly face.
