2. Read first story “The Couch was a Castle”, "Mud Is Cake", It's Raining! It's Pouring We're Exploring", "Harry's Box", or "The Squiggle"


3. Song: Can You Move With Me (tune of Do Your Ears Hang Low?)

Can you wiggle like a worm?
Can you squiggle? Can you squirm?
Can you flutter? Can you fly like a gentle butterfly?
Can you crawl upon the ground like a beetle that is round?
Can you move with me?

Can you flip? Can you flop?
Can you give a little hop?
Can you slither like a snake?
Can you give a little shake?
Can you dance like bee who is buzzing round a tree?
Can you move with me?

4. Read second story “Edward and the Pirates", "Not a Stick", "Not a Box", or "It Looked Like Spilt Milk"

5. Fingerplay: There was a little turtle

There was a little turtle (Cup hands for turtle)Who lived in a box.
He swam in the river (Swimming motion)
And he climbed on the rocks. (Climbing motion)
He snapped at a mosquito. (Snapping motion)
He snapped at a flea. (Snapping motion)
He snapped at minnow. (Snapping motion)
And he snapped at me! (Snapping motion)

He caught the mosquito. (Reach out and 'catch')
He caught the flea. (Reach out and 'catch')

But he didn't catch me! (Shake head and pointer finger)

6. Crafts: Imagination

Provide children with a variety of building materials, glue, scissors, markers and tape. Let them make whatever they want.

Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!

5. Crafts: GREEN COLLAGE PAINTINGS
Have children tear or cut green pictures out of magazines.
Give them large pieces of white paper, and set out some green paint.
Let the children brush the paint on their papers.
Then have them select some green pictures to place on the wet paint to create green collages.

March comes in like a lion,like a lion, like a lion.

Thud, thud (slap floor)

I love to sleep out in the sun, (Rest cheek on folded hands.)
And chase other animals just for fun. (Run in place)
In all the jungle, I’m Number One. (Hold up pointed finger.)
I’m a lion!

6. Crafts: Lion Mask
Using small paper plate, glue on eyes, nose, and lips.
Color them before/or after gluing on.
Curl and glue on coloured mane strips.

We Love Pigeon!

2. Read first story “Pigeon wants a puppy”, “Don’t let the Pigeon drive the bus”, “The Pigeon finds a Hotdog” or “Don’t let the Pigeon stay up late

3. Song: Pigeon on the Bus
The pigeon on the bus says "Can I drive? Can I drive? Can I drive?"
The pigeon on the bus says "Can I drive?" all around the town.

The children on the bus say "No, no no! No, no, no! No, no, no!”.
The children on the bus say "No, no no!" all around the town.

The pigeon on the bus says "Please, please, please! Please, please, please! Please, please, please!"
The pigeon on the bus says "Please, please, please!" all around the town.
The pigeon on the bus shouts "That's not fair! That’s not fair! That’s not fair!”

5. Fingerplay: Three Little Hot Dogs
Three little hot dogs frying in the pan.
The pan got hot, And one went BAM! (clap on "BAM")
Two little hot dogs frying in the pan.
The pan got hot, And one went BAM! (clap)
One little hot dog frying in the pan.
The pan got hot, And one went, "'Wait, Wait! Put me on your plate!"

6. Food Fun: Pigeon Poop
5 cups crunchy flake cereal
3 cups crisp rice cereal
2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows and raisins
1 Bag chocolate chips
Mix first 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave for about 1 minute; stirring after 30 secs.
Pour the melted chocolate over the dry ingredients; stir well and quickly and spread on wax paper to cool.
Once cool, break into chunks that look like lovely pigeon poop.

7. Crafts: Pigeon Headband
Make headband. Cut large circle from blue paper, smaller circle from white paper, and small circle from black.
Layer together with glue to make the head and eye of the pigeon. Using two strips of blue paper, attach to eye and staple to each side of headband to make a “Bobble-head Pigeon Headband”.

4’s and 5’s Craft: Knuffle Bunny Picture
Using black and white photocopies add own drawings of their “knuffle bunnies” and themselves in same style as Mo Willems books.
