We are temporarily reviving our Children's Blog to provide some resources for families who are stuck at home during this period of social distancing due to COVID-19. We will put together a variety of activities for you and your families every day at 1:00 pm. Watch for weekend Boredom Busters on Saturday and/or Sunday. See which ones you can do, and if you get the chance, share the results with us on any of our social media platforms, which will be listed at the bottom of this blog.

Chalk is so diverse! You can make so many fantastic and engaging games and activities with it! Try out some of these fun games made more fun with chalk:
Checkers: create your own checkers board, and use found objects like rocks or pine cones for your pieces.
Dots and Lines: do you remember playing SOS on graph paper as a kid? This is a little like that. Have the kids create a grid of dots, and start connecting the lines. If you complete a square on the grid, your initials go in to mark your point. See who has the most points when you're finished!
Tic Tac Toe: the sidewalk is your canvas! Draw out your tic tac toe grids, and try different ways to play. Tossing bean bags towards your grid is a great way to make this classic game more challenging!
Bullseye: this one is fairly self explanatory - but so fun! Draw out your target(s), assign points to each ring of the bullseye, and toss a bean bag or other item to try and get as many points as you can. Make your targets as big, small, or complex as you like!
Twister: arguably my favourite of these chalk art games. This is great for a driveway or open piece of pavement - stay off the road, friends!
Sidewalk Simon: How many letters in a sequence can you remember? Try it out with Sidewalk Simon!
Obstacle Course: Draw out different paths and challenges, and see who can make the best obstacle course! Check out this video from Pinkalicious and Peterrific!
