1000 Books Week Thirty-Eight

I hope everyone enjoyed Winterfest! I know we did. Our three Polar Bear Dip jumpers raised $1260.00 for the Library! Woot Woot!

Our last Star Reader of the Week was Jayce!

This week's Star Reader is Jude! Congratulations!

Our last Book of the Week was "Diary of a Wombat", by Jackie French, a charming tale about a wombat who trains humans to be his pets!

Our thirty-eighth Book of the Week is "Bully Goat Grim", by Willy Claflin.

"From the award winning creative team who brought you The Uglified Ducky, winner of the 2011 Texas Bluebonnet Award, and Rapunzel and the Seven Dwarfs comes the latest fractured fairy tale from Maynard Moose. The story has high flying bunnies, rude noises and a grammar lesson you’ll never forget. What more could you ask? An audio CD? OK, it has one of those too. In the wacky world of Maynard Moose, storyteller Willy Claflin brings us Bully Goat Grim who has a case of “Random Hostility Syndrome.” He meets his match in Baby Troll. Her heart is pure, her mind is sharp, and she knows how to handle a bully! In addition to the Fractured Moose English glossary, there are Grown-up Words included to help everyone follow the action." - August House

Stay tuned for our next Star Reader and Book of the Week!

How's everyone enjoying this balmy weather? Getting excited for Winterfest? I know I am? Myself, and two others (Frank and Breanne), are jumping in the Polar Bear Dip on February 16th! Want to help raise money for the Library? Come down and pledge for one of us to jump!

Our last Star Reader of the Week was Isabella!

Our next Star Reader is Jayce! Congratulations!

Our last Book of the Week was "Tell Me About Your Day Today", by Mem Fox, a touching celebration of imagination, play, and friendship.

Our thirty-seventh Book of the Week is "Diary of a Wombat", by Jackie French.

"Hilarious and completely charming, this delightful tale of a wombat who trains humans to be his pets is now in paperback! A wombat is an Australian animal that looks a little like a bear, but smaller. Its favorite pastimes are digging holes, eating, and sleeping. In this book, a wombat tells its own story, about...guess what? Digging holes, eating, and sleeping. And, of course, training its new neighbors--humans!" - Sandpiper

Don't forget, tomorrow is our Princess and Popstars event at the Library! If you've already registered for this exciting program, we'll see you tomorrow at 1:00!

Starting in March, Saturday morning Lap-Sit will move to Monday afternoons. Stay tuned for more details!

Stay tuned for our next Star Reader and Book of the Week! Keep up the good reading!

Our thirty-sixth Book of the Week is "Tell Me About Your Day Today", by Mem Fox.

"There was once a boy who loved bedtime.

What could be more wonderful than sharing bedtime with beloved friends? The little boy in this gentle and fun story loves to talk to his stuffed animals each evening and share with them all the things that happened to him that day—and to hear about their days, too.
From bestselling author Mem Fox and award-winning illustrator Lauren Stinger, here is a celebration of imagination, play, friendship, and coziness certain to touch a chord with young children everywhere." - Beach Lane Books
