Boredom Busters: Picnic at Home

Hello all,

We are temporarily reviving our Children's Blog to provide some resources for families who are stuck at home during this period of social distancing due to COVID-19. We will put together a variety of activities for you and your families every day at 1:00 pm. Watch for weekend Boredom Busters on Saturday and/or Sunday. See which ones you can do, and if you get the chance, share the results with us on any of our social media platforms, which will be listed at the bottom of this blog.

Today's theme is Picnic at Home!

Dress Up: https://www.pinterest.ca/fabvonvette/picnic-attire/

The best part of any dramatic play is dressing up! Get into the theme, and dress up for a picnic in a park on a sunny day - or a picnic at the beach! Rock out that hat and sunglasses, whether your picnic is in the back yard or the living room!

A picnic at home can be as fantastic as you make it. Lay out a blanket in the front or back yard and engage in the dramatic play with your child. Lay everything out like you would at the beach. Play games you haven't played in a while. Make a picnic scavenger hunt. The possibilities are endless, and so is the fun!
