Boredom Busters: Graphic Art

We are temporarily reviving our Children's Blog to provide some resources for families who are stuck at home during this period of social distancing due to COVID-19. We will put together a variety of activities for you and your families every day at 1:00 pm. Watch for weekend Boredom Busters on Saturday and/or Sunday. See which ones you can do, and if you get the chance, share the results with us on any of our social media platforms, which will be listed at the bottom of this blog.

Today's theme is Graphic Art!

What is digital art? Drawing, animation, illustration, calligraphy. It can also include abstract design, poster design, and even computer graphics! Let's check out some of these art styles!

Drawing: Drawing and illustration are closely related; drawing is often an exploratory form of visual art, whereas illustration is used to provide emphasis or accentuate content, usually text.

Ideally, you should have a calligraphy pen to do actual calligraphy. But if you don't have one, don't worry. Check out the movements and artistry of creating calligraphy fonts, and practice with what you have. It will look beautiful!

Try composing a letter to a friend or a loved one in calligraphy!

Hopefully these activities help break up the day, and get your family engaged in creating graphic art!
