Week 6: Down in the deep blue sea
Today we discussed the ocean! At the very beginning I asked
everyone to name all the different animals they could think of that lived in
the ocean. They said: starfish, shark, jellyfish octopus and so much more! We
then took turns and said our favorite animal, there were a lot of dauphins and sharks.
As a little bit of a warm up, I showed them pictures of
underwater animals in camouflage and they tried to guess where it was! Here are
the pictures we looked at!
We moved right onto our first book which was:
We then sang the song Slippery Fish:
Slippery fish, slippery
fish, sliding through the water,
Slippery fish, slippery fish, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by an?
Slippery fish, slippery fish, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by an?
Octopus, octopus, squiggling
in the water
Octopus, octopus, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Octopus, octopus, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Tuna fish, tuna fish,
flashing in the water,
Tuna fish, tuna fish, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Tuna fish, tuna fish, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Great white shark, great
white shark, lurking in the water,
Great white shark, great white shark, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Great white shark, great white shark, Gulp, Gulp, Gulp!
Oh, no! It's been eaten by a?
Humongous whale, humongous
whale, spouting in the water,
Humongous whale, humongous whale,
Gulp! ? Gulp! ? Gulp! ? BURP!
Pardon me!
The second book we read was:
We played a game of “Who
lives in the ocean?” I said a list of animals and if they lived in the ocean
they would pretend they were swimming and if they lived on land they would
march around. It was a lot of fun and a great way to get the kids moving!
The last book we read was:
And with the help of five
little helpers we sang our next song:
“5 Little Fishies”
Five little fishies swimming in the sea, teasing Mr. Shark; “You
can’t catch me!” Along comes Mr. Shark quiet as can be….SNAP!
Four little fishies swimming in the sea, teasing Mr. Shark; “You
can’t catch me!" Along comes Mr. Shark quiet as can be….SNAP!
Three little fishies swimming in the sea, teasing Mr. Shark “You can’t catch me!" Along comes Mr. Shark quiet as can be….SNAP!
Two little fishies swimming in the sea, teasing Mr. Shark; “You can’t catch me!" Along comes Mr. Shark quiet as can be….SNAP!
One little fishies swimming in the sea, teasing Mr. Shark; “You
can’t catch me!” Along comes Mr. Shark quiet as can be….SNAP!
No more little fishies swimming in sea!
