1000 Books Before Kindergarten: Noisy Bug Sing-Along

I hope everyone is staying warm out there! We've had a chilly couple of days!

Our last Star Reader of the Week was Ardenn!

This week's Star Reader is Linaya! Congratulation!

Our Last Book of the Week was "Year of the Jungle", by Suzanne Collins.

This week's Book of the Week is "Noisy Bug Sing-Along", by John Himmelman.

"Open your ears to the wonderful concert happening every warm day and night in our yards, fields, and woods nearby. Who are making those sounds? Can you sing along? CHIRP-CHIRP-CHIRP KERAAAAAK TICK-TICK-TICK ZEEZEEZEEZEEZEE. There s a lot going on out there, and this book is a wonderful bridge to a whole noisy, busy world of insects. Learn who is making what sound, and why. In this book the reader is treated to scientifically accurate, up-close depictions of some very cool bugs. It explains why the bugs make the sounds they do, and how they do it - and it s not with their voices!" - Dawn Pubns.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, November 20th), is Universal Children's Day! Join us at the Library from 3:30 - 4:30 to meet with volunteers from the Central Alberta Refugee Effort as they share their stories and photos of growing up in their different cultures.

Stay tuned for our next Star Reader and Book of the Week!
