1000 Books Week Forty-Five

Is everyone enjoying this balmy weather? I saw my first mosquito of the season last week ... not impressed!

Our last Star Reader of the Week was Jacob.

This week's Star Reader is Layne! Congratulations!

Our last Book of the Week was "Uh-Oh", by Mary Newell DePalma, a charming tale about a mischievous little dinosaur who lands himself in one scrape after another.

Our forty-fifth Book of the Week is, "Curious George", by H.A. Rey and Margaret Rey.

"In this, the original book about the curious monkey, George is taken from the jungle by the man in the yellow hat to live in a new home, but--oh, what happened! Though trying to be good, George is still very curious and takes a swim in the ocean, escapes from jail, and goes for a flying ride on a bunch of balloons. This treasured classic is where it all began for the curious, lovable monkey and is a must have for any children's book collection." - HMH Books.

Next week is Children's Book Week! All week we encourage children to come to the library dressed as their favourite character from a book. Have us guess their character for a treat!

Keep an eye out for our daily "guess the book" contest on Facebook!
Friday afternoon (3:30 - 4:30) we'll be doing face painting in the Program Room - come down to the library and transform into your favourite character!
