Try these activities at home to go along with the Imaginary Trips & Adventures theme this week at the 2-6s Summer Reading Club.
1. Let's Roll
- Attach a 6-8' length of PVC pipe to the wall or
along a fence, at a slight angle. The kids can have fun running the
cars thru the pipe.
2. Make a travel collage with pictures from your travels or look through magazines and catalogs to find pictures
of things that go on land, in water, and in the
air.
3. Make a camera to record your adventures.
4. Make binoculars to look at new lands.
5. Send a boat on the water - Cut an index card to a 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 1/2 inch long triangle. Cut a small notch on the back (not the point of the triangle). Place the card on water. Pour a small amount of dish detergent into the notch and watch it push the sail boat across the water!
6. Pretend to be a pilot and throw paper airplanes.
7. Make brownie sailboats, bus crackers, and train sandwiches.
Use your imagination and see what places you can explore this week!
