Storytime is starting, starting, starting.
Storytime is starting, come and listen to me.

2.             Read first story “But Where is the Green Parrot?”, or "Green Eggs and Ham"

3.             Song: The Leprechaun
A leprechaun is small and green, (Put hand to indicate a short leprechaun)
He hides where he cannot be seen (Cover eyes)
But if you catch one on this day (Shake finger),
He must give his gold away. (jump up and down)

I'm A Little Leprechaun (Sung to: "I'm a Little Teapot")
I'm a little leprechaun, dressed in green,
The tiniest man, that you ever seen.
If you ever catch me, so it's told,
I'll give you my pot of gold.

4.             Read second story “Go Away Big Green Monster!", "Green Eyes" or "Red Light Green Light"

5.     Fingerplay: Five Little Monkeys in a Tree
Five little monkeys swinging in a tree, Teasing the alligators, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!
Four little monkeys swinging in a tree, Teasing the alligators, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!
Three little monkeys swinging in a tree, Teasing the alligators, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!
Two little monkeys swinging in a tree, Teasing the alligators, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!
One little monkey swinging in a tree, Teasing the alligators, you can catch me, you can catch me....
Along came a alligator quiet as can be....... And snapped that monkey right out of that tree!
No little monkeys swinging in a tree

7.             Craft: Leaping Leprechaun
Leprechaun Template, Pot of Gold Template, Crayons, Tape, Scissors, Popsicle stick, Black construction paper
How to make your Leaping Leprechaun Craft
Print our pot of gold template and cut it out. Trace it onto black construction paper and cut the pot out.
Print our leprechaun template and have your children color him in. Help your kids cut out the leprechaun if they are younger – it’s pretty tricky cutting. Tape your leprechaun to the top of a popsicle stick. Using the scissors, cut two slits in the pot of gold. Try to make sure they line up as much as possible. Thread your popsicle stick through the slits from the back so that the leprechaun can “pop” up from behind the pot.
