Letter D – Dogs, Donkeys, Dragons, Ducks and Dinosaurs.

Storytime – Welcome Song and Storytime is Starting Song

Fingerplay: Five Little Dragons
One little dragon with scales of blue;
Ran to meet the green one,
And then there were two.
Two little dragons sitting under a tree;
The red dragon joined them,
And then there were three.
Three little dragons, wishing there were more;
Along came the purple dragon,
And then there were four.
Four little dragons, happy to be alive;
Found a yellow dragon,
And then there were five.
Five little dragons all out to play;
“Watch out, they breathe fire,” is all I have to say.

Nursery Rhyme:  The Paws on the Dog [Tune: Wheels on the Bus]
The paws on the dog go trot, trot, trot.
Trot, trot, trot, trot, trot, trot.
The paws on the dog go trot, trot, trot.
All through the town.
The ears on the dog go flop, flop, flop…
The nose on the dog goes sniff, sniff, sniff…

The tongue on the dog goes lick, lick, lick…
The bark on the dog goes woof, woof, woof…
The tail on the dog goes wag, wag, wag…
The people with the dogs go, “SIT!”

Song: Five Little Ducks (use duck puppet glove)

Mama duck said "Quack, Quack, Quack" And four little ducks came waddling back.
Four little ducks went out to play Over the hill and far away
Mama duck said "Quack, Quack, Quack" And three little ducks came waddling back.
